Everyone has got an investment of their own. We have different point of views especially when it comes to high heels. I’m personally a fan of high heels and I wear them as much as I can. I work in an office so I have more time to wear them. With that being said, my favorite pairs of high heels are constantly wearing out which is why I made it a habit to do these three things to my shoes. I’ve owned quite a lot and haven’t thrown out a pair yet. Here’s what I did:
Saving those soles – before I even break them in, I make sure that I take them to the cobbler first to have them protected. My cobbler applies this nice thin coat of rubber on top of the soles which make them pretty smooth to walk in. aside from that, the original soles on my heels don’t get even a scratch even after a week’s use.
Waterproofing – you may not realize it yet but you may find yourself in a tight situation where there's nothing you can do to keep your shoes wet. It helps a lot to give your shoes a nice water resistant coating. You can buy a can of spray on water repellants being sold by your local shoe sop.
Polishing – got leather? If you’ve got leather high heels you might be in a surprise on how fragile they can be. Make sure you apply shoe polish frequently to keep the leather from drying up and losing its shine.
