A very long time ago in Venice, prostitutes were everywhere. It’s almost like every place you go you can find a brothel. As a matter of fact, there were a lot of prostitutes at that time that if you don’t get creative you won’t be able to get a single customer. Drastic times need drastic measures. This is when high heels were used. Prostitutes would wear high heels with 18 inch heels just to make them look taller and easier to see from afar.
Another intriguing fact is that King Louie XIV of Span had grown such a liking to high heels. As a matter of fact, it’s more of an obsession. He so loved his red bottom heels that he would literally kill someone that he sees wearing the same design as his signature red bottoms. Without these people and their outrages uses for high heels, we wouldn’t be seeing women today wearing them.
